capursese History in a nutshell: fascism in Capurso.
The leading expert on local history, for all teacher Gino Pastore, better known as the Professor. Pastor-in his book "Alala capursesi - From the End of the Great War to the birth of the Republic", published by Eastern editors in 2001, gives us a very detailed picture of the fascist period in Capurso.
Since 1 January 1917 was set at the municipal entity Consumer Capurso, an instrument similar to a sort of central public for bulk purchases of basic necessities such as flour and pasta. The institution, closed April 30, 1919, was presided the last period, the Mayor of the time, the wealthy merchant Francesco Cinefra leather, on whose work, two well-known and prestigious personalities of the 'opposition', lawyer and teacher Nicola Volpe Bartolo Di Terlizzi, pinned their penetrating criticism management to say the least "paternalistic."
Nicola Volpe was a Catholic population, while Di Terlizzi was a socialist, yet united to force the resignation of the City Council for their ration issues. In contrast
Ente municipal supplies, the lawyer Nicola Volpe, deed by deed of Notary Michele Sabino Volpe, formed in Capurso, with a score of ex-combatants, the first (and only) Consumer Cooperative Society by shares, with the clear aim of ensuring its members are consumer goods at prices lower than market speculation that fighting local business and politics at the very least casual use of the municipal entity.
Just a week before the founding, in Milan, the bundles of combat by Mussolini and other militant left-wing socialist and interventionist (March 23, 1919), in Capurso, March 16, 1919 was inaugurated the section of former combatants. The initiative was an instant success with hundreds of members who are elected as president of the People's Advocate Nicholas Volpe. From the news we report
Le critiche dell'opposizione, poi, sottolineavano la mancata distribuzione del grano duro fornito dalla Prefettura di Bari al Comune di Capurso wondering if, by chance, had served to make semolina for macaroni those greedy speculators are selling at £. 1.50 per kg, at a price that is absolutely inaccessible from most of the population.
